radiator leak

I have a 93 cutlass supreme with the 3.1. Her name is Tina. A female because it takes a lot of work just to keep it happy.

I noticed the radiator started leaking around the radiator drain cock. I removed it and it came out in pieces. I replaced it and after filling the radiator with a little water it is still leaking like crazy right under it. It looks like there is a plug missing right below it that points straight down. It is leaking from that opening for sure. Is there a plug that is supposed to plug it? Is that a weep hole that tells you when the drain cock is about to fail? Did I just not put the drain cock in far enough?

Any help would be great.

Re: radiator leak

It may need some sealer. Take the radiator out where you can see everything and use a little non-hardening Permatex or Indian Head sealer to seal your threaded connection. Don't use it on your transmission cooler lines though, just put them back like they came off.
