awww helllla naw!!
ok, so yesterday i type in www.automotiveforums.com into the internet explorer address bar on a school computer. I then click on forums, and guess what happens?! ITS BLOCKED
Initial reaction: WTF They blocked it because supposedly it's "chat" and I bet im the only one on the whole network that uses it. Does anyone know if theres a way to bypass the filter without having to use a password? EDIT: btw, although I am posting from home right now, I usually like to do it from school because of the broadband and its a good way to waste my study hall time

We always opened up the command prompt and just typed "ping www.thesite.com". Then it will give you the site's IP address...then you just put those numbers into the address bar and viola! It always worked for us at school so hopefully it will for you too.

Get a different internet browser. Like firefox, change the proxy to a different one(just google for "free proxy list")or something similar. Then you should be fine.
EDIT: Also google for something like "how to bypass Bess" or whatever block your school has. Mine has Bess.
