Cooling Fan issue on 2000 Grand Cherokee

My cooling fan just stopped working on my 2000 jeep grand cherokee.I dont know if its the fan or a fan control module/relay someplace.

is there someway i can test the fan to make sure it works. can i just jumper it to a 12volt battery and make sure it works that away.

Yes, you can jump a wire from the positive post of the battery to the fan plug and the other wire to ground to see if it works. If it's good, and not coming on, it could be your fan relay switch. I had to change mine. You have to remove the passenger side headlamp, then drill a hole in the plastic to get to it. The "floor" if you will of the headlamp housing. Now my fan needs to be replaced. I've got 87,000 miles. It's running real slow and I see sparks when it runs. I have to give it a nudge to get it going.

I'm having the same problem with my Jeep and can't determine which relay is the one that may be the problem. There's a power supply box under the hood to the left of the battery with a number of fuses and and relays in it... is this where the relay is located??? If it is in the box, which relay should I change? If the relay that's causing the problem isn't in the box then please tell me where I can find it, because it's driving me nuts . Thank you very much.
