Honda CB750 Four tech/questions

Wadup. Been readin some threads, did a search for CB750 in this forum, and have a couple questions. I'm going to be pickin up a 1974 CB750 in bout a month here, and 1.) This is my first bike, and 2.) Am wondering if anyone here has previously restored/rebuilt this particular model. I did a lot of research, found one in my area that is running, low miles, and decent price. I'm buyin due to lack of funds for a new-model bike, and also I'm a tinkerer, love to work on my own machines, vehicles, etc. Parts availability amazed me at how easily I found NOS parts for it. Anyway, if anyone could throw some advice on what to look out for, pay attention to during engine rebuild, any wiring advice, brake mods, or just the little quirks that go with these particular bikes I would greatly appreciate it. Thanx in advance

First of all, congrats on a deciding on an old Honda CB750. I was in the same situation when I bought my first bike, a 1981 CB750 Custom. It had 36,000 miles on it. After about $400 in parts, I drove it from northern Kentucky to Key West and back. I could not have asked for a better bike!
Besides looking most importantly at the sprockets and chain, listen to the engine for any rattling (which could be a bad camshaft chain) or other typical problems. As long as the bike has been kept indoors and not abused mechanically, it will run forever. Before getting into any major repair work, get a Clymer repair manual for the bike (its a cyclists's bible).
Another thing to consider, those old SOHC four cylinder engines can be totally rebuilt by reputable mechanics for around $850-$1000. Sure beats the hell out of buying a brand new one for many thousands! Hope this helps a little!
