I did a search but I thought my situation was a little different. I don't know if you've seen my other thread http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=402681 but I am rebuilding a 4g63 engine. My question is, what all can i do to get the most power out of my n/t head (The head actually came off a turbo but is going to be n/t on a n/t block). I was planning on getting some aftermarket cams, but what else can I do besides that? I've seen people doing valve springs, retainers, and all that but I was wondering if someone could give me a ~complete~ list. I really want to get as much power as I can but I don't want to go turbo. I was thinking 5 angle valve job, cams, as much port and polish as the local shop will do, and whatever else you guys can help me out with. Also, do I actually gain anything with "blueprinting" the engine? Thanks, Derek

i dont think you'll need to upgrade anything on your head. you can put higher lift duration cams in there to increase overlap if you like. the most important thing you can do on a N/A eclipse is raise the compression add fuel for larger gains. on a 1g n/a i would leave the head/intake/tb alone untell you have the need for more fuel/air in the combustion chamber.

not saying cams will not increase your airflow. a stock 1g head flows only 240 cfm's around 8000rpm. if your looking to run the block upto 8000rpm+ then you can look into cams/valves/springs/retainer and upgraded fuel mods. but untell then, its just not nessessary yet.

bluprinting just ballances the flywheel/crank/rods/pistons so there are no parts that have more or less weight then the other that will cause the engine to become unballanced and cause havic on your freshly built block. its important in longgevity, quality of a rebuild. its typically around $189.
