ac clutch pulley noise

I am new to this forum I would like to say hi. I have a 2000 tacoma with a cool 3" lift and 32 in bfg's. Its a V6 5speed 4X4, hard to come by. Anyway I take it through all type of terrain including 2 and 3 ft deep ponds. the ac compressor is located closer to the ground and I can't imagine that the unit getting submurged in water can be good. It is making bad vibration noises during idle and as I accelerate makes an annoying hum each time I gas it. it also sounds like the pully is rubbing on metal or something. the truck still blows cold air. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this. I was told that it could be the tension pulley right next to it but it seems fine.
