Wheel spacers?

I was just reading the post about ol' boys Super Advans and it reminded me of my situation. I have Enkeis with the dreaded "Honda" offset, 45mm. The wheels are 17x7 and have 225/45 tires on them. I just ordered a set of 33mm wheel spacers to get them to clear my massive (sarcasm) z32 calipers. I was wondering how far those babies are going to stick out. Hope it doesnt look too goofy or a set of fender flare will ensue......if I can afford it. Any good flares for less than $200. I love that look with a nice conservative body kit. This will get me by until next tax return when 5 lugs and some Work rims will be installed, I love the split 5 spoke.

Re: Wheel spacers?

33mm spacers will stick out.... you guessed it, 33mm more than they would without spacers on.

you gotta be a brain surgeon to figure this one out

hmmmm 45-33=12 offset. you'll be fine, it will actually sit very flush with the fender. i've seen people fit 12 offset on 10 inch wide wheels and they didn't look too bad as long as you put a decent amount of negetive camber on it. since you got only 7 inch wide rims, you should be fine without anything done. if it does rub alittle, then add more negetive camber.

Re: Wheel spacers?

Thanks. I was just worried that I would look like a turtle car. I am just tired of running around with rims on the back, but stock on the front. Amazingly, the spacers I got arent thick enough to get the rims to fit over my calipers, just fit the stock rims.

Re: Wheel spacers?

Cant sell my rims, just got them. Well at least tried to get ones I wanted, but..... my wife ordered the wrong ones when I was in Iraq and I am too much of a good husband to get rid of them. Truth is I am waiting till I can afford 5 lug hubs and correct offset rims. I want more power first. I would rather drop two grand on a turbo, injectors, etc.

Re: Wheel spacers?

thats cool really. But wouldnt she understand the scenario?? I mean they dont fit, so? I mean she tried yes which is awesome. If my girl ordered me some shit i would probably feel the same as you lol. Or do you think you would lose money if you tried to sell. And once you get the 5 lugs, there bye bye anyway. So why not sell and help fund towards the stuff you want? Not trying to be nosey or anything lol, just a curious person. Cuz you said they still dont fit with the spacers right?? Damn big ass brakes lol. Im with you though. I want to do a 5 lug with z brakes, and z rims AFTER my engine gets sitiated (no typo).

Re: Wheel spacers?

Well, the wheels I want were the same offset and width. I just wanted something to get me by for now. I think I would have the spacing problem with every single 4 lug rim out there. I also think it will look good once I put the spacers on and lower it a little......at least I hope so.

Re: Wheel spacers?

well aside from the big brakes, the stock offset of s13's is +41 with a 6" wide rim, so +45 with a 7" rim, the rim will actually sit about 8mm further out than stock, but i suppose you still couldnt clear your brakes. but that offset is not uncommon for s13's.

Re: Wheel spacers?

The spokes of the new wheel actually are thicker and sit further back towards the hub. I thought the same thing as you, but I was wrong. One of the guys around here has 18 TE-37s on his S13 coupe and he has huge spacers with the skyline calipers. Looks badass. Him and me are the only S13ers around here with a running SR.

Re: Wheel spacers?

well, thats just the spoke design, but technically, the outside surface of the rim should be further out than stock, wether the spokes will clear the brakes is another thing altogether
