Official June 18 So Cal meet

I'm organizing a So Cal 240 meet on June 18, with the help of some of my friends.

What: So Cal Meet and BBQ
When: June 18, Saturday
Where: Whittier Narrows Park in El Monte, CA
Time: 12pm- Whenever everyone leaves

**There's a $3 entrance fee per car for this event, but it goes to the park facilities, not to any organizers of the meet**

This park provides fishing lakes, comfort stations, picnicking areas, playgrounds, a nature center, an equestrian facility, trails, a multipurpose athletic complex, a military museum, soccer fields, volleyball courts, and archery, skeet, pistol and trap ranges. Tennis courts are also provided and include a pro shop. Rentals are available for boats, surreys, bikes and group area picnics.

We are going to have a BBQ there, so for people going, please bring anything we can BBQ (chicken and beef preferably). We'll provide plates, cups, and utensils. Also, please bring soda (cans or 2-3 liter bottles). We want to have food for everyone going, so please do your part and pitch in.

There's already a confirmed 100+ people going from Zilvia, 240sxforums, NICO, Onlineshowoff, FreshAlloy, and other sites. Alot of the people going are telling their friends and family about it.

Other cars are welcome too, but it's mostly 240's.

Whittier Narrows is a no-go. I was told that we have to hire an LA County Officer to supervise our meet because 2 weeks ago, the park had a large car meet there and it turned sour. This FUCKING sucks, as we have to abide by the new rules that we need security there.

If only that meet didn't turn out bad, we'd be having a nice meet next Saturday.

Anybody else have any suggestions on a nice place to hold this? I want to be able to salvage this meet as much as possible.

Some smaller parks close to home are:

-East Los Angeles
Belvedere Park
Saybrook Park
(not sure if little league is going on though, might be packed, for both parks)

-La Puente
San Angelo Park
nothing going on in this park, thats where I ball. Might have to fight with moms trying to reserve spots with someone having a b-day party here though.

-Whittier
Sorensen Park
like San ANgelo but much bigger picnic area, some parking without alot of parking in street right next to picnic area

These are bigger parks that Im not to sure of but hold alot more people for sure.

-Rowland Heights
Schbarum Regional Park (Big)

-Irwindale
Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area

Looks too "wilderness" to me. I dont know... stupid Whittier Narrows. We can still go there and just meet up, nothing against people having a BBQ.

Fuck it, why cant you guys just go? What if a family was having a party with like 200 friends and family, same shit right? What was the official thing they told you about the security? Was it like if you had over XX amount of people attending then you would need a security guard or what?

They told me since the meet they held 2 weeks ago went sour, they don't want anything like that happening again, thus the need for police presence.
