I have a 96 Thunderbird LX Sport. I bought it about 3 weeks ago. My car has the autolamp thumbwheel and when engaged the autolamps do not work. In order to make sure that the car had the option I pulled the switch out and there is one black wire comming out of it. Which is what Mitchell says should be connected to the switch. I have a Good connection.. all fuses are good. Any ideas why it doesnt work?

Re: Autolamp problem
The light sensor/amplifier on the passenger side top of dash may be bad. Try turning the adjusting screw to early and see if the lights come on. The problem could also be the Autolamp relay is bad. It is located under the dash to the right of the steering column and has six wires coming out of it's connector. I'm assuming the lights work normally with the autolamp feature turned off.

Re: Autolamp problem
Is it just the lights that don't work or the complete dash including the guages?
