well i just bought my buddies 89 305 tbi (305 terd bodie inj...)
well its my first camaro that i bought with a v-8 already under the hood and to top iot off my first 5 speed camaro too....
so for now im gonna put an exhaust on and a few other things(mostly restoration as in like new seats or atleast covers and a new steering column and dash out off my 86 but other than that its pretty nice i thought it was gonna be snappy but its a terd so.... gotta get the clutch sooner than i thought so i can drop my 350 in her and yeah its carbed (the 350 that is)

so anyway just had to announce my presence , yes its on the road all my others wher being prepped and thwen my buddie offered this to me at a rediculous price soo yeah
its mine 89 camaro 305 5speed tbi electric blue good condition minus dented door and fender, steering colum all wobbly and the ripped seat but other than that its got fresh paint and i got everything to make it mint and paid only 1000 so i think its a good buy he bought it 2300 miles ago and clipped a pole with the passenger door and fender and he paid 2500 so you tell me.....and he even hasa all the painting supplies to redo thwe fender door and anything else i wanna get done

Re: just got a new one

well since my 350 carb motor was a 795 cfm carb that would rip shit and was 3 speed auto and would tear the doors off this one with out any probs at all
and it doesnt flow enough cfm for the 350 i got so yeah
and im used to alot more power but then again i usualy do bolt ons before its put on the road
and a major disapointment is i had a dogamatic v6 that would beat it but i also toasted that in 3 days also oops you mean its not supposed to do 110 in 2nd gear oops
still dont know why it blew lol just jokin
but its a project
alsdo on the note of it being better than a carb..... try and power a 350 on that tbi lol unless you get the holley 4 barrel its not gonna cut it

Re: just got a new one

gm made thousands of 350 tbi engines run without any problem, and you can always buy a larger throttle body if need be. TBI will in my opinion always be better then a carb, but thats just my opinion. Now i know no one is going to have TBI on their 8 sec drag car, but thats not the point. If you want a fast street car that still gets good gas mileage then TBI is the way to go.

Re: just got a new one

gas milage???? what is this jiberish you speak of??
oh i know gallons per mile sorta thing ok..lol
just joshing
yeah its all about the power
and its got 123000 on it
and its gonna be my 3rd swap
i think its gonna be alot easier due to the fact that the other 2 were stock 2.8's and i fabricated tranny mounts exaust and all things in between lol
so yeah i think itsd gonna be a weekend deal(i know it is the last 2.8 swap only took 3 days but i also had the motor preped and used all the mounts from the first one and only had to drill a few more hole and it was drop in fit sorta deal hardest part was the motor mounts they were a bitc.
but yeah its gonna be fun to go to the drags this friday and see what kinda improvements i get over the summer
hell its all ready faster than when i got it and all i did was run lucas o ring oiler and 93 (first time in long time it saw 93 lol) but it runs much better
i forgot there is one modification(other than electric blue paint) its the legendary white face gauges and they came in a package they only asked speedo top speed nothing about the redline .. origanal redline is 4500 srticker redline 5500 needles to say the new redline works better lol nice cheap perfoemance mod looking for header stickers maybe even borla exaust stickers next to see how she sound........
just jokin lol but yeah its goin to be a good summer lol
i love getting my hand dirty
