95 Taurus cd player removal
My gf bought a 95 Taurus SE auto and it came with a Pioneer DEH-2100 cd player. I took out her Kenwood MP3 cd player from her old car and she wants me to install it in the 95 Taurus. I have never worked on a Ford before (I'm used to Nissan/Toyota/Honda). I'm having trouble trying to take out the Pioneer cd player. I only see two screws for the top of the outer trim of the center panel. Then from there I don't know what to do. Any help is appreciated.

You can check the pioneer website. There are a ton of manuals there.I couldn't find an installation manual for your unit but I did find one for a deh-1700 ; a similar unit.If you remove the faceplate and look at the radio part you should see 2 small slots at opposite ends. You insert a thin , stiff piece of metal into each slot and pry outward to release the catches..or maybe inward ** use caution ** .Having released these catches the radio should slide out.To install an aftermarket radio into your tearazz you'll need an adapter to to match up the harness of the tearazz to your particular radio.Walmart usually has a good/cheap selection. You will probably also need the proper sleeve for your radio.

Re: 95 Taurus cd player removal
I checked and I do notice there are two slots on each side of the Pioneer headunit. I'm not sure what I can use as a thin piece of metal to pry the unit out?
I still have the sleeve for the Kenwood cd player. I didn't buy a radio wiring harness because I was going to use the Pioneer wiring and splice them into the Kenwood wiring. Thanks for your help. |
