ineed help bad

i have 96 monte carlo and when i start it up at night to turn on the headlights they flicker the whole time im drivingnow i just put a mew engine in and it did the same thing with theold engine and my intake gaskets had blown what can ido to solve the problem please idont want to replace another engine

Have your charging system checked, you may have an alternator on its way out.

fi the lights flicker its the voltage regulator which is in the alternator...its hunting up and down...so basically its alternator time

i put a new alternator in about 6 months ago could it be my stereo that i put in

was the alternator a reman or new? I was always taught new doesnt always mean good... and it has proved itself right many times

alternator/regulator is malfunctioning. Also, you said you upgraded your stereo? you may be interested in installing a 1/2 Farad or 1 Farad Capacitor - it'll WAY prolong the life of your alternator.
