best tires for 2002 Impala ls

Can anyone tell me their opinion on the best tires for the 2002 Impala ls sport handling package(stiffer suspension) would be? I liked the handling of the touring Goodyear Eagles but the tires sucked other than that, with all the noise they created and how quickly they wore (just 20,000 miles) but right now I'm looking at all season Michelin Harmony's (they are not touring tires) and BF Goodrich traction T/A T standard touring all season Thank-you in advance!

I just put on Pirelli P3000 Cinturato tires on my LS and they seem quite good. Long tread wear, good all around traction. Stiffer sidewalls on this tire make a little firmer ride.

You're right about the Goodyear Eagles. I too have a 2002 Impala LS and the tires wore out after 26 000 mi. Plus the road noise was unbearable. After some research, I also found the Michelin Harmony a good bet. But after even more research, I think I will go with Toyo. I have Toyo winter tires and they are phenominal. Great reviews on the all season touring tires as well.

I really like the Sumitomo tires. I had them on my Lumina and am looking at putting some on my '03 Impala soon. Awesome all around; traction, stopping, low noise and little wear. Traction is important to me, as I live in Maine.

I put falken 512 on mine. They're very good. I'd recommend it.

My brother swears by Bridgestone Potenza G009s so I thought I'd try them too. I really like them so far. They are more on the performance side, but will supposedly last longer than most perfromance tires (time will tell).

I was wondering if anyone knew off hand if they still make the Goodyear Ultra Grip(the kind that they have on the police cr.vics) or if that was replaced with the Assurance TripleTred.

I want quiet tires so I looked on tirerack.com and found some Kumho tires that were highly rated for wet traction and a quiet ride. I haven't bought them yet though.

Which ones were they? I just purchased the Kumho Solus KH16's from the Tirerack and had walmart install them and I really like them too. I think they are the replacement for the Ecsta that I put on the Impala. The wife even notices that they are quiet, We replaced the symetery michellins with the kumhos. I think we ended up paying about $330.00 for the tires, mounting and lifetime Rotate and Balance from walmart. Everyone else wanted to charge me around $400.00

They were close to this model here... Kumho ECSTA ASX However I do not believe these are the ones. They were on closeout for $61 or $66 each and had great ratings. There rate pretty good but snow traction is kinda weak. I remember the others being all rated 8.0 and up.
