Exaust system
I have a 2001 chev silverado 5.3. I am going to put a daul exaust on it but it seems the the cat converters on them restrict so much that in order for it to be loud like say a 95 chev you have to straight pipe it. What ahve you guys done. i am looking for loud and powerful and suggestions?
thanks |

Re: Exaust system
Well, to keep iton the street, you gotta keep your cat.

Don't use any exhaust tips... Just point (dump) the tip towards the ground from the muffler.. This will cause the exhaust to hit the ground and "bounce back" creating a very aggressive, deep sound. I have this with my flowmaster on my truck and I get people asking me what I do to make it sound so deep all the time...

Re: Exaust system
what kind of loud???
a poppy throaty noise then you want to run true 3 in duals a mellow deep sound you want to run single chamber mufflers either way you can put pipes straight out the back, or sides or whatever you want.....i have had just about every type of exhaust system one can have...stock, single to dual exit pipes w/ muffler, true dual straights, and finally true duals with super 40 flows.
