Need 92 SE AT Guru! O/D prob among others
OK, first of all, I am about to attempt putting a VG30 AT in the 92 SE with the VE. I understand the I should just need the tranny, axles, and hubs. (Electronics should plug right up?) Is this true, or more involved?
But....if I can fix this tranny instead- The (VE) tranny (with LSD) seems to be fine, except for misc electrical problems... 1) Never seems to engage into O/D. With O/D off or on, doesn't seem to upshift. Can be in 3rd (hmmm, or 2nd-can't tell) at 70 at 5800 RPMs. 2) Normal driving in first always seems OK, but sometimes when at 3k-4k rpms, the car will suddenly seem to go into nuetral and the revs will bounce from 1k-1.5k rpms until I mash on the gas, the tach will then quickly catch up to the tranny at roughly 2.5k-3.5k rpms. I guess this sounds confusing if you haven't seen this before I unplugged all connecters, sprayed cleaner, and reattached them all. Still the same. Really seems to be electrical. Fluid looks good. Oh, and should I try changing the filter even though the fluid looks good? Thanks to anyone who responds with any help!!
