97 Ram Crankcase sensor

.. OK .. my tachometer stopped working and I suspect it to be the crankcase sensor ??? If not any suggestions to what it may be??..If it is the CCS where would I look to find it ??? deal suggested near the harmonic balancer ... Looked but not find .. I would appreciate help in this please ... thanks .... mo
