halo projector problem

ok this question is for you guy's with the halo projectors. so this is my problem, my left halo bulb went out for some unknown reason. it doesnt look blown or anything, the wiring doesn't look corroded either. the way i have it hooked right now is that when my side marker lights are on, the halo's come on too. so my side markers still light up, and ofcourse the halo isn't, so that eliminates the potential problem coming from the car's wiring, i even tried joining the wires to the other side marker's wires, and got the same result. so i've got the idea that i just need to find another smaller bulb to fit in there, catch is, it needs the positive and negatives wires connected to it. so my question is, have any of you guys had this problem? and if so, how'd you fix it? also does anyone have an idea on where i could get that bulb a mentioned with the 2 wires? i'm gonna go search some parts stores to see what i can find, thanks

well i looked on dsmtuners and alot of people have had the same problem. they said they went to places like Radio Shack and just bought new LED lights for the halos, so i'm thinkin i'll try the same even tho the light more than likely wont be the exact same kind of bulb. any of you guys done the samething yet?

Re: halo projector problem

I have the same projector housings as you, and my halos blew after 2 weeks also. A guy I met at the SoCal meet had his blow after 2 weeks too. I think that everyone has this problem with these specific ones. A lot of people actually mentioned going to radio shack and getting bulbs, but I dont want to pull apart the housing just in case I reallt screw up... you got any plans to do so?

yea i've already baked open my left housing trying to figure out why my bulb went out, it takes common sense to open up the housings, so you shouldn't really screw anything up. I had to bake open my OEM housings to snatch the wiring out for the new projectors.
But yea, I plan running by Radio Shack today to see what I'll come across. I want to get some orange LEDs so that it'll match my side markers lights and turn signals, it'll look mean as hellllll. now its just the matter of fact of coming across the right bulbs and then rigging them up in an affective way. stupid ass cheap ebay projectors, lol.

I wouldnt really call them shitty, for $120 they look fuckin awesome, for the time the halos actually worked, lol. the headlights and high beams still work, its just the halo that gave up. well anyways, i went to Radio Shack and found 2 kind of LEDs that i'm gonna see if they work or not. pics later maybe...

Bake them open? I dont see why... all you had to do was cut off the stock connectors on the factory lights, exchange them with the halo lights wiring (some splicing...the 2 ground wires connect, blue to green, pink to red), and just plug and play...

oh well, maybe i was just being retarded or somethin, i forgot why exactly i did all that. anyways though, i bought different bulbs. one kind doesnt even work when the 2 wires are connected, but the other does, only problem, its not bright enough to even light up the halo
so would you guys happen know exactly what bulb to look for?

Re: halo projector problem

you have to match the right output for your LED's they usually dont run just straight 12v...when i add them to my cars interior dash i had to wire resistors in front of them/also they only work in one direction, (meaning you cant reverse polarities like on incandesant lights)
