CAI or open element
i cant decide if i want to make a custom CAI or just buy an open air element. im going to make my choice by which one gives you the better performance. For my custom CAI i was going to do the normal fog light idea but then also add one just like geno did. So i need everyones
thanks

Re: CAI or open element
in my opinion open element just plain looks better, and I would assume it would have better performance, going through the fog lights I dont think would help much, i think someone said that "ram air" doesnt really help until really high speeds

Re: CAI or open element
what exactly do you mean by open element. Ive been contemplating just slapping a little small air filter on the end of my throttle body, i saw a guy that had one on an LS1 and he really seemed to like it. It would breathe hotter air but a lot easier than pulling it through some long ass tube. and ive beat around with ram air for a while and im pretty much convinced that ram air is kinda like the electric supercharger deal in the sense that it makes the air more available to breath but doesn't actually make the engine breathe it (force it). unless you have some massive hole directly in the front of your car that goes straight into your throttle body with a little screen in it to keep bugs out.
