97 chevy tahoe rpms drop and engine dies

Hi I have just got a 97 chevy tahoe and at first I noticed that when I turned the ac unit on and drove it was fine but when I would come to a stop the vehilce would stall out now it is doing it when the air is off and I stop but I have noticed that the rpms dont act like it is set right or something it will drop down to zero when I proceed to put on the brake and when I give it gas the rpms dont act like it matches up to the mph and then sometimes it acts like it is idleing to high what can this be ????? Help please!!!

I had a problem like that and it turned out to be a bad ground...Check all the major grounds on your truck...

well this morning tahoe kept shutting off on me I ended up running it out of gas this morning and filled it up with premium and now everything seems fine drove a few miles and when I go to stop now it stays running fine. I am wondering if I had gotten bad gas or if something was just clogged up somewhere possibly. well we will know soon if it starts doing it again cross your fingers for me it don't.

ok it's been a couple days and it is running fine now I believe the problem was a short somewhere between the steering wheel and the drivers seat lol.!!! I was running it out of gas I am blonde I did not know that the gas gauge flucuated that much. On my dashboard instead of a picture of a gas pump mine shows a person walking holding a gas can lol.
