Re: urgent tranny problem

You can call the dealer with your vin and they should be able to tell you. If my memory serves right the 4r100w is the tranny that comes in F250 and lightnings and is a heavy duty tranny. The 4r70w comes in 150 and is a piece of crap I'm on #2 in less than a year, don't let anyone install a shift kit in it either

Re: urgent tranny problem

Its the 4R70W. Came in 1995-2003 f-150s RWD/4x4, the 4R100 was available but more than likely its the 4R70W.

Re: urgent tranny problem

The 4R70W was behind the 4.6L only thru 2000 or so, then behind both the 4.6L and 5.4L after that.

So, if it is a 5.4L, it *could be* a 4R100.
