Bazooka tube swap...
I just bout a 97 teggy, it came with a shitty little 8'' bazooka tube in it. Its one of the tubes that comes already amplified.
Now my question: Does anyone know if it is possible to swap out the bazooka sub for say an 8'' JL? Will it work? Will it sound good? I dont need big bass because i got my last car stolen for my 2 12'' JL W3's so i dont want to spend that much money on a new system Any imput would be nice. PEACe!!!

Re: Bazooka tube swap...
The wiring is already done, so depending on what gauge wiring was used to wire the bazooka tube, you should be set with the wire. You'll have to buy an amp to power whatever sub you get, being that the tube was self amplified.

Re: Bazooka tube swap...
i think he wants to just swap the sub out of the tube for a JL sub. Don't know if that's possible though.

Re: Bazooka tube swap...
ooohhhh, ,got it. Yeah I don't think that's possible either. And even if it was, I doubt the amp that's powering it would be supply enough power to effectively power a JL sub, depending on which one you got.

Re: Bazooka tube swap...
You're right. If it's an EL tube they don't provide much power at all. The RS amplified tubes actually have a 150 watt MosFET amp built into them.
