well i have my car back the final bill was 3700 that included the engine brand new lifetime warrenty on parts all new seals, new belts, new clutch, flywheel and i had a wheel stud fixed while it was there. unfortunaly like i said i didnt have the money at the time and my dad said he would buy it but i had to put in the same engine, the hard part was finding one that he liked with a warrenty more than a start up.

$3700 for a new D-series motor? Dang, at least the car runs again though.

it was only 2000 for the engine itself the rest was mostly labor, due to the fact that honda is ass raping expensive

Holy crap, $1700? Yikes... a swap would have been cheaper, even a junkyard D-series. You don't don't have to pay your dad back for that motor/labor do you?

yes i do have to pay my dad back, but my car is running again, i also had so other things replaced at the same time i had a new clutch put in and i had to buy all new belts to have put it and new seals. trust me i know a swap would have been cheaper thats what i wanted to do but since most swaps have start up only warrenties my dad wasnt buying.

Dang, if you have to pay him back...I would have told him no thanks, and just saved up and bought a used D-series from the junkyard. Maybe $500...$700...then just change the motor out...could have done the labor yourself and saved a ton of money. Besides...most places you can buy motrs from give warrenties...like Auto Adventure gives a 1 year, 12,000 mile warrenty on all used USDM motors and swaps (onoly a 3 month for JDM motors and swaps). For little more $, you can buy a longer warrenty (for both USDM and JDM), I think as long as 2 years or something. That would have given you a swap, WITH a warrenty for less still. Just learn to look arounbd, and look around nextime. You'll save $$ and get what you want. Swaps with warrenties are out there, you just have to look.
