door lock

The door popper (automatic door locks) in my 91 mustang doesnt work on the driver side. I was wondering if it would prevent the door from locking manually. I cant lock it by pushing the lock down or by turning the key. Can the popper actually get jammed open? I just want to make sure that replacing the popper will fix my problem before i do it, because it seems like a pain in the @ss. The door opens fine, and the power windows work, unlock/lock switch works on both doors. Thx!!!

Re: door lock

it isn't that big of a pain to replace the door lock actuator, but i've never experienced one that got jammed open and it doesn't seam like that is possible. on the other hand if anything can happen to our fox bodied friends it will. pop the door panel off and check the linkage to make sure nothing bent or disconnected.
