|
my stock cd player keeps cutting out, mostly when i go over a bump. the lcd turns off and the music stops and if i bang the dash hard enough it comes back on. anyone ever have this prob? its really annoying and any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

If you had a short, there ought to be some fuse(s) blowing; or failing that something would be toasted by now. It appears the power supply is intermittent. Banging on the dash rattles the connection enough to reconnect the power. Barring some type of loose component in the unit, a full check of the power wiring from the grid to the deck is in order. Look for a bad connector, or if there is an inline fuse on the power wiring that came with the deck, the fuse holder may be defective. This is assuming the main's/fuses are not loose or not securely installed.

well, i took the cd player out, and put in a stock Grand Am cd player, and it did the same thing, so i put mine back in, and the problem appears to be gone! so idk what was goin on

i got the same problem only i got a 96 cavaliar with a Rampage radio...i kown rampage suxs and all but it can get me pissed when it cuts out.
