2001 Explorer Transmission Issue

Hello all. I just hit 65,000 miles on my 2001 Explorer Sport and suddenly need a "valve body" replaced on my transmission. I've taken great care of this vehicle and can't believe that this has happened out of the blue. Has anyone else run into this issue? I want to contact Ford and have them pay. Anyone have any experience with that course of action?

Thanks.

Re: 2001 Explorer Transmission Issue

interesting... I have an 2001 Explorer sport as well that just hit 70,000. I have taken care of it Very very good as well like u. I bough it last February and have not had a single problem with it ever since, not even one. Im surprised this has happened to u and not me, since we both have the same exact car with same exact year with almost the same exact mileage.

have u been doing the yearly fill and drain for the tranny? check the fluid and make sure its not black.
