Outside Temp Gauge...

I know the outside temp gauge is a cheap part & only takes a sec to replace...but is there any type of calibration or reset procedure.

I think my current one is bad...but at colder temps...below 45F it comes on...anything much over that and the overhead display shows "OC".

I'd replace it inna hearbeat, but I'm just curious if there is calibration procedure before I do.

No. It is a direct route between the temp guage and the DIC. Pretty much all the DIC does is cross reference the resistance value to a tempature. When a thermister starts to go south, it can register correct values at a low tempature, but not at a high tempature, or vice versa.

Mine behaves in a similar manner, although doesn't read OC. At tempatures <50 degrees, it's usually within a degree or two of what other tempatures on store signs say it is. Above 50, it usually reads between 5 and 10 degrees lower.

I'll second cdru. The thermistor used in the circuit more than likely has a pretty tight tolerance 1-5%, so there isn't much need to calibrate
