wheel seal installation

Does anyone know which way to install the wheel seal on the front of a 93 grand am, The chilton book says the replacement is installed front the wheel side of the knuckle and the factory was installed from the engine side. The seal I got with the hub assembly looks like it needs to be installed the same way as the factory seal but I'm unsure as I nor anyone else I know has done this on the gm fwd's.

On a side note does anyone have experience removing the strut to knuckle through-bolts, I've taken the nut out but the bolt isn't budging even with my sledge hammer and torch heating it up.

Start here and then surf into it. As far as the bolts, sounds like they need to be pressure-relieved of the suspension weight, though I not too sure to go about that.

Thanx for the info, autozone I've read through already but relieving suspension weight I didn't think there was that much weight on it. Worth a shot though.

Re: wheel seal installation

update: I abandoned the attempt at removing the strut to knuckle bolts and decided to just take out the strut knuckle assembly instead. The replacement seal in now installed just like the factory seal.

Warning: Don't buy the cheapest hub assembly or one that doesn't look exactly like the original, you'll likely waste you time like I did, with every thing going in until it comes time to tighten things up and the hub binding up.
