Angry 2001 Dodge Tail gate handle

Can some tell me how to fix the tail gate handle assembly on my 2001 dodge dakota. The gate won't close properly.
Thank you

Is the tailgate latch not catching?? If so they might be gunked up with grease. You should take them apart and clean them and see if that fixes the problem.

It's worth a shot!!

Thank you Anthony I will try cleaning them. If you move them by hand it will close.

Probably the two arms on the center control are sticky on the rivet that the turn on. Take the handle out (remove the three screws) and see if you can loosen it up with your favorite penetrating oil (PB Blaster).
