How many problems can my car have?

i have a 1989 cavalier and when i drive it just up and dies. i changed the fuel filter and it drove perfectly for about 10 mi. then i had the same thing happen and i dont believe that it is the alt cuz i just replaced it in Jan. i think it might be the fuel pump but i wanted to check on here before i went and dropped the exhaust and the tank and took out the pump and all that good stuff.

Re: How many problems can my car have?

We need a better description of what happens. Does it sputter, thats fuel. Does it just turn off? If so thats electrical. You may simply have a loose connection. Good Luck.
