Weird Clunking Noise When Pressing Brake??? Eg Coupe
hello, this is my first post and is the MAIN reason why i joined AF.
my car (93 EG) is making a weird clunking noise when i press the brake. it doesnt make it in corners or acceleration. just when i go to a complete stop. i remember jacking up my car.. and the rubber bushing that goes between the coilover and the Top hat fell off.. it was probly worn out and just died. it looks like a rubber .5inch thick mini cd if you know what i mean... the noise is bugging the hell out of me i am riding on coilovers w/ stock factory shocks do you guys think my shocks are blown? could this be the cause? or do you think that maybe its something else...? like the spring rubbing against the metal top hat.. im not sure, thannks for looking |

Upper strut mounts could be shot. It's a good chance your struts are worn, they aren't meant for what your doing.

yeah, i just jacked up my car today,., and it seems that the coilover springs are seated properly.. i also purchased some new koni shocks so hopefuly that helps ALSO>>>>.. me and my friend recently replaced the steering rack,. which involves takeing off the whole subframe..... Now that i think about it.. my subframe could be loose.... thats the only other thing i can think of. maybe its not bolted completely tight.... |
