sleeper vs sleeper

I had an interesting lose today, the first good race ive had in a while that was worth posting. So im on my way to work today, i see a Civic at a stop light im pulling up to. Notice it has a muffler and all the badges removed with tinted windows. I think nothing of it. Anways i get ahead of it, the civic is to my left, and i see in my passenger mirror what looks like an intercooler. So i get a little interested i slow down a bit to get a better look, and yup plain as day there it was. So i do a quick jump on the gas to get the drivers attention. That does the trick and he quickly pulls of next to me. Pace for a second then he takes off, i immeditely follow but damn i couldnt keep up. I was like WTF?! this early 90s civic is walking me. Anways i shut down early cause its a 35MPH zone and were already doing 70MPH. I pull up next to him, give him the thumbs up and gesture for him to roll down his window. Turns out 2 weeks ago he just finished swapping in a B22a (i think thats what he said, i dont know much about import engines) and turbo a 7 PSI. That was one fast civic.

Re: sleeper vs sleeper

B22a? I don't think I've heard of that one before. Maybe he meant F22? I believe that's the Accord Type R or SIR, whatever they call it. Good race. Races like that usually give me something to look forward to beating in the future. I just take it as, I'm not fast enough yet, but in the future I will be. Good death.

EDIT: or as dampachi said H22.

There is no B22A. It couldn't have been an F22A, because those come out of weak USDM accords. So H22A it is. H22A's put out 200hp, so 7psi on the stock 10.0:1 compression should raise it decently. Pair it with a tin can hatchback, and its solid for mid 13.

I think its time we up to 14 psi and chase him down jay

Re: sleeper vs sleeper

Whoops, I was thinking F22B not F22A. F22B is the DOHC vtec motor. F22A is SOHC non vtec. Doubtfully, not the F-series motor than. More than likely, which has been said, an H22A motor.

most civics with the H22a swap n/a will run mid 13's. with turbo it will still run mid 13's ( traction limited ) but will trap over 110mph.

Re: sleeper vs sleeper

Owned by one of Civ's fellow minions. You can't win Musashi...

Alright back on topic. The loss was tragic. Even more so, it was a Civic. You win, you lose, that's life. Deal with it however you choose.
