Keyless Entry System

I have a 1999 GMC Jimmy, Just recently the wiring harness was repaired and now that it is back from the dealer the keyless entry system will not work. I tried to program the transmitters with no luck. I noticed over the weekend that the hatch button on the dash will not open the window but it does trip the relay. The button on the outside works fine.

As a last ditch effort If i was to purchase a keyless entry with a remote starter (just because im greedy) would that fix the problem?

If anyone can offer help it would be great
