Idle problems

My sister bought a 94 Talon turbo, fwd. It's in mint condition, other than a small problem with the idle. It seems to sort of bounce, and it even stalls sometimes. I'm just thinking that the idle screw needs to be adjusted. Can someone tell me where it's located (with pics if possible), and whatever else it could be if that's not it. The 1000 FAQ site is down at the moment. Also, can I find the repair manual for it online somewhere?

Well if you want to buy a repair manual then go to this site and choose which ever one you prefer

http://www.car-stuff.com/performance...e=repair_manua

I don't think that the idle surge problem that you have will be fixed by only that screw. I have an idle surge as well but I get rid of it by unplugging that green wire with the connector that sits on top of the throttle body next to where the intake pipe goes in. When I unplug that my idle surge goes away and there is no after effect but that doesn't fix it but... Good luck.

Re: Idle problems

By repair manual I meant a scanned version available for download. I myself own both a Honda and a Toyota, and someone actually went through the trouble of scanning in the reapair manual for them. Like here's the link to the manual for my MR2: http://www.mr2-tech.com/bgb/mechanic...mechanical.htm
I was wondering if there is something like that for the Eagle Talon/Mitsubishi Eclipse.

As for the idle surge, what other things can I try?

Clawhammer,
I had that same problem last year that my idle would bounce and sometimes stall at a light if I didnt rev the engine alot higher then usual. For me the fix was to replace the Manifold differential pressure sensor, which is right on top of the intake manifold. But my car was throwing a check engine light with it, not sure if this might be your problem but just sounded exactly like my problem.

Re: Idle problems

Is that circled in red the ISC? Is that phillips screw the only thing that attaches it to the throttle body?
How do I disconnect the idle switch? Is that the red plug that's in the picture?

You mean unplug the green wire that the arrow is pointing to in the picture?

No, there is a green wire on the 1st gen, I don't know about the rest of the DSMs, but there is a plug like thingy on top of where the throttle cable connects to the throttle body. I would show a picture but I can't get it to work.

Re: Idle problems

yeah I have the same problem that when I take that off the surge goes away but idles high at like 2500 RPMS. the ISC is below the Black sensor or the TPS sensor to the left of the intake manifold or passenger side it has a plug on it, you can test this there is many threads about this.
