Stock Injectors?

ok well i am relatively new to turbo cars as you can see from my signature but my friend and i just went in and bought a 97 gst spyder... i was wondering how much hp i can get out of the stock car on stock injectors... would a boost controller be my best bet ... like i say i am new to turbos so any info would be great...thx

Re: Stock Injectors?

The stock injectors will not max out with a stock turbo. All I can get is 68% at 19.7lbs/min airflow. (elevation) The most people see from the T25 is 23-25lbs/min. On an upgraded turbo of course you will easily run out of fuel. I believe 95 GSXracer said he did 17psi on the 14b (90-94 stock turbo) before they were maxed. Hope this helps. Looks like you have quite a bit of reading to do.

Re: Stock Injectors?

Yeah, about 17 psi on pump gas. On race gas I maxed out the 14b on the stock pump and injectors, running mid-high 12s at the time. Just a point of reference. It really does pay to have a datalogger to keep an eye on them if you are planning on pushing their limits. From my calculations, assuming pump gas with a specific gravity of .76, and a target AFR of 11:1, the 2g pump rewired (see vfaq) is good to 40 lbs/min at 15 psi (not possible on a 2 liter, so suffice it to say that it will do just about any setup at 15 psi) and 27 lbs/min at 30 psi, which is pretty weak. For numbers in between, just work it out linearly. For 20 psi I would expect a capacity of about 36 lbs/min, and at 25 psi, about 31 lbs/min. This may not mean anything to you now, but as you search and read you will find out what turbos move what amount of air, and with a logger you can read airflow (only for 2g, or 1g with DSMlink). But at this point I'm probably just rambling again.

Re: Stock Injectors?

Evo8 injectors cost $100-150. I saw a guy on EvolutionM.net selling his for $100 shipped a couple of days ago. Well worth they buy, IMO...but if you'll be on teh T25 for a while, no point in upgrading injectors just yet

Check out the DSMtuners.com 2g peformance upgrade path

P.S. The last guy who came in this forum with a V6 Mustang ended up with a GSX with a 60 trim and all the supporting mods (good for 400+hp on a good tune) in about 2 months Saviour1743 or whatever his name was

Re: Stock Injectors?

I pay State Farm around $600 every six months, without collision on my car. I'm 21.

You should have kept the car and gone insurance shopping

Re: Stock Injectors?

Well, since I'm still bent i'll post it. No inspection sticker ticket last year shot me up to 16 points. WTF. The wife just got her license and technically has no driving experience. So insurance on all 4 cars went up. The GSX, TSI, and her Mystique are all 644 a year now. The truck is over 2000 since its got colission on it, the wife has to be on it, and its still worth over 20k. 4100 total, or 410 per month. The truck was 1000 with just me on it and full coverage, the wife doubled it.

Time to sell everything I own, this is BS...
