Need Battery Light Advice

So, unfortunately, I am one of those women who knows very little about cars. I put the key in and it starts...when that doesn't happen, I am at a loss. So I need some advice before I call the mechanic and he takes advantage of my ignorance.

I was driving my 2002 Sable LS today while running errands. I started the car and pulled out of one driveway when I stepped on the gas and had no power. I looked down and the battery light was on. I would step on the gas, but nothing would happen, it was just kind of stuttering and that was all. I pulled over to the side of the road and turned off my car panicking. I decided to try starting it again to see what happened before I called AAA for help. Well it started right up again and I never had any power issues again, nor did the battery light come on again. I made two more stops before coming home and everything seemed fine. But of course, being a single woman alone in a big city, I want to get this taken care of immediately, but would like an idea of what is wrong before calling the garage. Any advice anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

the garage won't know what to fix if its not doing it anymore, so they'll just charge you money and not do anything. Chances are it was a short computer failure in the charging system that got cleared when the car shut off and restarted.

every once in a while something like this happens - wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes common place - glitches are very common that can cause all kinds on strange problems

Yep, i have to agree with the other fellows. I think your car had a hiccup.
