If there can go anything wrong....

It goes big way
So here is the story aprox onemonth ago I noticed that
my car is acting funny and that it's throwing cooler watter
through the expansion bottle, so I thought O.K. it's finnaly time
to change the stock head studs with the APR I thought that hed gasket is blown cause my high CR and still originall head studs...then after
I drove a car for couple of times I notice that every time I push the
car little harder the smoke came out from the valve cover (I have little K&N filter on there where it supose to be one rubber hose and goin' before the TB) so I drove the car to my mechanic and he predicted that prolly one of the piston is fried and told me that I prolly over heated the engine, but that didn't happend cause I have all those gauges and I'm looking at those 24/7 cause I didn't want to make the same mistake I did with the previus engine (overheat the oil, resault blown engine)
So he toke apart the engine and what we found out head gasket unharmed so he ditch a little further cause the top of the pistons and ring looked O.K., he took all pistons out and found a part broken off on a second piston between the piston rings (pistons are from CPS high compresion NA forged pistons) so there I'm with fucked up piston and for the dot on i that little shity part that was broken off fucked up my wall on the sleeve...So what I have to do now is buy 4 new pistons rebuild the engine that means new dimension for sleeves and honned it again...YUPIIII....like I have tons of money
I can't belive that I payed almost 850$ for those pistons and they broke!

here you go
check it for your self

here we go again (opening the engine)

Damedge on the sleeve

You can see the damedge on the first piston (missing part betweenthe rings)

And here you can clearlly see that top of the pistons are not damadge and are like new so it's not our fault, the engine had lots of fuel !

And this is how that piston looked like

So now I'll prolly have to buy ENDYN high compression NA forged pistons
and try to get at least one piston from that Italian firm CPS

Ya, man, that sucks big time. I'm hoping I don't blow something up with my turbo - he he - who knows - probably will, but I've got an extra engine if I do. Well, good luck - hope it all works out without you having to spend too much $$$.

Re: If there can go anything wrong....

O.K. here is new update:
Ordered ENDYN high compression NA 82mm forged pistons and with little luck I'm gettin' those at the end of next week...then we'll redo and hone the sleeves for perfect match with those pistons put in ARP head studs, GE cam seal, new head gasket and of we go, and when pistons will be all settled then I'l put in MOTUL oil :0) the finnestthere can be ;0)
So with little luck I'll be driving around in a two week period od little longer

Re: If there can go anything wrong....

so finally it's finished, I'm already driving around and breaking in the engine can hardlly wait to see those 1.000 miles so I can push that little devil...

So what's new

- ENDYN NA High CR pistons 82mm
- endyn piston rings
- ARP head studs
- GE cam seal
- original honda rods redone and improved
- all gaskets ...

And I got new Toyos R888 for this season
And did lots of work on that custom CF hood so right now all it needs is two layers of clear coat
