I just finished installing these on my 02 TB. They look great, and add that touch to my TB. I want to thank everyone here and elsewhere for providing the instructions and help when I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. Thanks again, and I will probably have some pics sometime. Erik

Please post the pictures, how long did it take you to do? I want to do the same.
I'm going to look for the original thread. Thanks

It cost me around $28 for the turn signal enclosures and another 10-15 bucks for some 18 guage wire, terminals, and piggyback connectors. Overall install time was around 3-4 hours, but this was working over two days over two weekends, so the time is an estimate.
I will post some pics as soon as I take some, hopefully this week or next. I drove 60miles yesterday for the test run on errands and things, and noticed they don't really light up until it gets dark out. Once dark, they are simply awesome to use. I mainly installed them to show if I am changing lanes at night while towing my boat. I can't remember how many times I have started to go over, only to find a little car sitting right in my blindspot! I used the envoystuffforum for the install instructions and the gm part #s, which are the correct ones. Here is a link to the install procedures, but you might have to register on the forum to see the installiation. BTW, all of the steps in this guide are accurate, down to the "t". I was hesistant, but a good multimeter, a flathead screwdrive, pliers, and wire cutters are all that is needed besides the parts listed in the guide. Install http://envoystuff.com/index.php?showtopic=5 Also check out this guy's envoy with the painted mirrors, looks good, but I would never be sastified with my own results if i did it. Erik |

Re: Turn Signal Mirror install complete!
Thanks for the Info. At this will give extra security on the road. Also this will help greatly when you tow your boat on the highway or on short drives. Let's see if our car insurance can give us some discount on this. I also installed Back up sensors and work great. It starts to beep at 5 feet away and also detetcts the grass when you backing up. These sensors work awesome. I had to connect the the power to the trailer Backup power since I first used the left reverse light but when I open the locks it started beeping in my garage since the back up lights go on when you open the locks at night time or at dark place. I also paint them to match the bumper color which is dark green.

How are the wires from the lens connected to the power window switch. Are there wires already in the plug for the turn signal lamps. Or do you need a special pin to put in the plug going to the mirror? If so where can you get the special pins? Thanks Rob |

Robert1010- I ran the wires through the mirros like the envoystuff.com guide. It joins back up with the stock wires as soon as it possibly can. I taped the wires completely from the light assembly to the window switch.
The mirror plugs are *not* prewired, you have to do it yourself, but you dont need any special connectors or pins to make the connections. You could solder everything together if you want, but I dont like to mess with solder in smaller areas. I used .187 guage "slide" (dont actually know the real name) connectors to attach to the light socket and some 18 guage piggyback connectors to attach the wires to the correct wires in the door. BTW, you might want to pull the fuses in the underseat fuse box for the left and right turn signals when working on installing the lights. I didnt the first time, and wasted 3 10A fuses. Really smrt on my part. ![]() I suggest if you are serious about installing them right, check out the guide in the post above. It is very very easy to do, and doesnt cost much. Thanks, Erik |

Re: Turn Signal Mirror install complete!
On the module where the mirror plugs on to, is there a blank hole or is there a wire connected there, for the turn signal power? You said will need a piggy back connector (scotch lock). Is this only for the ground connection?
Got the lens already, just want to have everything needed when I start job. Rob |

No, there is absolutely NO wire already installed for the turn signal assembly, at least in my 02 in the mirror. There IS a turn signal wire already at the door module to tap into, which I think is what you are asking. You need 2 connectors on each side for the door module tap, one for ground and the other for the turn signal power.
The complete list of materials I used is as follows: Materials: 1- Driver Side Mirror Turn Signal Assembly 1- Passenger Side Mirror Turn Signal Assembly 4- Piggyback connectors for connections at the door module (same size as the wire) 4- .187 slide connectors for connections at turn signal assembly (this is the right size for the pins in the sign assembly, I bought a few sizes before I found this was the correct size.) (same size as the wire) 4- 3-4ft wires (I think I used 18 guage, in black to match the mirror assembly) Tools: 10mm socket for door panel and mirror removal various flat and phillips head screwdrivers multimeter (important, be sure to check the wires!) wire cutters something to crimp the slid connectors to the wire lots of electrical tape (I taped all of the wires) I hope this helps, if you have time, you might even be able to get them installed this weekend! Please post some pics when you are done, I need to take some of my TB. Have fun installing, Erik |

To clarify, there should be (at least in my 02) a turn signal power wire at each door module, ready to be tapped. Good Luck, Erik |

Re: Turn Signal Mirror install complete!
On the door module or Power switch control is a Blue wire alone at the end of the unit. I used a tester and found that it only worked for the signal lights and Hazard lights as well. The other door has the same option under the power wind. module. It might be dark blue or other color since mine is a 2004 LS. The hard thing was to pass the wires thru the mirror to the door. I had to make a little hole next the wires that power the rear view outside mirror. The factory wires of the Power mirror are clog between plastic and metal and its very hard to try to pass them along. The easy way is to make a 1/8" hole and pass them thru the door. Also leave about 1 inch of wires loose so you can move you mirror back and forth with no obstruction at all. That how I did it and it works perfect. The only thing that I need now is to install the Factory style Fog lights and I am done with my projects.
Hope this info help a little. Sincerely, Agustin Correa(Augie) |

Re: Re: Turn Signal Mirror install complete!
Thanks to everyone who replied, on the existance of the blue turn signal wire already in the plug on the door module.
BUT WHY?? If there is the wiring already installed on the module, where does it go to ??? Is it hidden in the mirror harness? It certainly does not run to the turn signals in the front of the truck. Any ideas Thanks Rob 04 Black LT |

Rob- It is there on every truck made, and makes it easy to upgrade the entire mirror assembly for everyone. Also, it goves us the proper wire to tap into to run to the turn signal assemblies. No, the wire just goes to the door, it currently doesnt go anywhere else which is why you have to run another pair of wires to get the turn signals on the mirrors to work. You are correct in saying that they dont go to the front or rear of the truck, but they are not hidden in the mirror harness.

Re: Turn Signal Mirror install complete!
Alright... This is what I found out. After talking to 4 parts departments. They have no clue what they are talking about.
Here are the Part Numbers: 88944062 & 88944063 I was trying to find out what comes with the assembly. THE ASSEMBLY COMES WITH THE AMBER OUTSIDE PIECE AS WELL AS THE BULB ASSEMBLY. no dealer could tell me... I finally found a dealer with the parts and he opened the box for me before I purchased, luckily it was the closest to where I worked... even though it was a GMC dealership. I will be doing this on Sunday. Will let you know how it goes.
