Audio Mods

ive got a 94 yj renegade with a few mods to my sound system. I put new speakers in the dash and overhead as well as a new pioneer deck. I want to upgrade the overhead speakers and was wondering if 5"1/4 inch speakers can be used.. i think the ones in there now are 4 inch.
Also, I want to add a sub but dont want to lose what little trunk space ive got... if anyone has put one somewhere and hasnt lost any storage speace please let me know... pics would be good too. Thanks.

Re: Audio Mods

Under the seat, or make a new center console, and have them face out to the sides. Put in an amp in the glove box.

they make 5 1/4 inch adapter plates for the front speakers. some minor cutting is required, but it is all done behind the covers so you dont need to be percise! you can get them on ebay for like 10 bucks and install is less then 1/2 hour with power tools. as far as the soundbar you can very easily fit 6 1/2 in the soundbar with minor cutting on some older models or even 6x9 with a little more effort. subs can be tricky to save space. the center console isnt too bad, i dont know what kind of vibrations you might come across. If you can afford to lose the space behind the back seat a down firing custom jeep box would be the way to go. You can find these at most local audio stores. Hope this helps!

Re: Audio Mods

You can even buy boxes for in front of shifter, and they sell some that connect to the roll bar. But behind the sound bar.
