tiptronic "bump shift" quit working

Hi,

I have a 98 Passat and the tiptronic just stopped working. Also sometimes it doesn't want to switch to a higher gear....seems to get stuck....afraid that it may ruin my transmission.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Might be your triptronic switch in the gear selector box. Does your car shift ok and into all gears in normal "drive" position?

Re: tiptronic

It does shift into all gears, but sometimes it waits a long time to shift when I first start out.

Thats normal, like when you shift from park to drive in the morning. Its the programming in the computer to help the transmission warm up.
