SUDDEN no start..

3 cyl.AS IN..ran PURRFECT! the day before.Shut it off.Next day.Cranked but..THIS after a little while was an engine that WAS NOT!! going to even fire.on ONE cyl!.Basics.Fuel,spark.Normal crank.Roughly lined up the timing/rotor.It was off a bit BUT it shouldda fired.Somethin',ANYthing.NOTHING.I got to GUESSING maybe the belt jumped a tooth.(Belts OFTEN do this WHEN the engine is shut off).Checked it.It had.Belt didn't look that bad.Changed the belt.BACK to right the way it was.Are these things THAT sensitive to 1..ONE tooth off? LOL..I guess so.

Re: SUDDEN no start..

it could be pouring too much fuel in the cylinders, and wetting the spark plugs.

That would make the belt jump a tooth? Got like 40mpg city(auto),ran like new!,well maintained Shut off normally.Cranked the next day normally.Normal spark.Plugs not soaked. Not even a HINT! that this would fire.On ANY cylinder.Ater I got it all apart.I stuck the dist. cap back on,plugs, wires back on,batt cable, retimed the OLD belt one tooth.Just like always.Just the SECOND I hit the key!! It came to life as always. Changed the belt, buttoned it up.
