what is ported or porting????

i hear people talking about that but i dont even know what that is.

enlarging the size of the opening. for example a ported 2g o2 housing is a stock 2nd gen o2 housing that someone used a carbide bit and air grinder and ground out bigger so it would flow more

You can port anything air flows through. Of course it's fairly complicated when you get into head porting and agressive porting of parts. You also have to be careful about porting to large and making the walls to thin. for basic porting including pictures check vfaq.com for some good info.
