Warranty Question

I have an Isuzu but live in a city with no isuzu dealer. My transmission messed up and I had to take it to a nearby shop since I couldn't drive it for very long. Are they going to give me gas about not bringing it to them? IE is my warranty going to pay for it? Anyone know if its legal for them not to pay for it in every state?

Re: Warranty Question

I think, it's been a while since mine's been out of warranty, so the regulations may be different now - but I believe "warranty" is only covered by an Isuzu, perhaps Honda dealer, seeing as the Honda Passports are the same truck.

If you just take it to any shop, or any dealer, the charge goes on you - I believe.

In my opinion, what I would do, is call a tow truck and get that thing to an Isuzu dealer - if it's still under warranty I would NOT let another shop touch that truck, cause then you could void your warranty all together.

If just anyone looks at that tranny and messes it up worse, the cost of further repairs and/or new tranny could be on YOU rather then your warranty.

Re: Warranty Question

I would call Isuzu's customer service and ask them what to do.

Well the transmission already is messed up thats the problem. How much would it cost to tow a car like 50 miles? If they had a dealership anywhere near me I would have taken it to them. If the idea of the warranty is to cover problems with the vehicle I don't see how who fixes the problems that comes up is an issue. I don't know what the case law in georgia where I live is but that seems awfully crooked to me...

Re: Warranty Question

All I'm saying, is I wouldn't want the cost of that transmission upon myself. It's worth the 50-100 or so bucks to have that puppy towed to where it needs to go for service, cause if it's a warranty item, you won't have to pay for the transmission work.

Have no idea the cost for towing, I'm sorry, I pay $175 dollars a year for unlimited towing/road side service for all of my vehicles, and boat, I've never paid by the mile.

Re: Warranty Question

what's messed up with the tranny?

We may be able to walk you through a fix. or you may find out that the fix is cheap and not worth your time to tow and you would rather just spend 100 bucks and get her fixed.
