escort 1800i, slow ???

ok just curious about my escort xr3i 1800i,

what it is my mate has a rs turbo stock model, 132bhp,
its fast as when he puts his foot down your head goes back in the seat

now i bought a xr3i 1800i 130 bhp and its no where near got the power of his rs turbo? strange as the power on both models are near enough identical?

anyone comment or advize? maybe my engine needs reporting or maybe somethink else? or maybe its because of his has a turbo?

anyone please advize, as im curious?
