Cool CA31 Cefiro parts compatibility

Hi!

Anyone know what other cars suspension is compatible with the CA31 suspension? I've been told some S13 Silvia parts are compatible but nor sure which.

Also is GET coilover suspension rebuildable?

Thanks!

you probably know by now but here goes:

i'm pretty sure the cefiro is based on a r32 skyline platform and shares the rear end with a few cars (laurel too). the front suspension setup on a31/c33 is strut so its more like a silvia than a skyline. i don't know for sure but it may help.

Hi! I'm from the Philippines and found this thread while searching the net My ride is a 1990 A31 Cefiro with an RB24S engine (inline 6 carbed engine) which was the standard released in our country. I'm having a difficult time finding modifications for the engine. I"m not planning an engine swap but ways to increase power using the stock engine. BTW, its stock HP is 150-160hp. My plan is to have I/H/E mods custom fabricated. What are your ideas guys?

Re: CA31 Cefiro parts compatibility

Hi guys, I'm new here. Just got to know this forum. I'm from Malaysia and I drive a A31 RB20DET.

First of all, S13 & A31 absorbers are compatible, only thing is the coils...which S13 coils are either softer and lower compared to A31. Due to the engine weight, RB20DET is obviously heavier than SR20DET ... you may face bumpiness if you uses S13 absorbers directly, unless you change the coils back from A31.

S13 absorders are slight shorter compared to the stock A31 absorbers. It won't be much problem if you uses S13 height adjustable absorbers. Eventually your A31 will look lower with full S13 absorbers.

Yes, I can vouch for OKi's post. I have put s13 standard suspension on my a31, and yes they do fit. However, you find that the spring rate at the front is very soft and and the car will understeer badly. I got adjustable coilover for my a31 now, with a 10kgm spring. Its very stiff and it helps to drift.

hi so does that mean i can put s13 shocks in my a31 with 50mm lowering springs and they wont hit the bumpstops as much or at all.

just a comment when i got my lowering springs the box had 300ZX writen on the box for the fronts i dont know about the rears as they sent thm all back in the same box when they got retempered 20 mm lower

Thumbs up

Hi I'm from Malaysia. Shockingly quite a number of malaysians in this forum. Yeah me 2 own a A31 yr 91 Cefiro sith still standard RB20E engine. Still going strong. Have tried 2 used the S13 front n rear. Too lowered n soft. then I bought Espilir A31 coil only + standard ab from chopshop very nice looking but again horse riding. Now I used standard ab but cut the coil abit. Nice riding.....family man.

I heard from some of my friends driving A31 TEIN seems to be the best. Anybody tried DR2?
