*video*why Does My Boost Do This!?*video*
VIDEO
here is a video i captured tonight of my boost gauge in action...as you can see it hits 15psi then slowly goes down and down the closer i get to redline. the only thing i could think that may be leaking is my Turboxs BOV cause i have no washers but i tried 3 and it didnt blow off til full boost and 2 was the same, 1 washer was a little better but still didnt blow off til like 8psi or so. otherwise the boost never did that it was steady at 10psi stock all the way up???

I would either say you have a boost leak or maybe your intercooler is overheating. Do you have the factory intercooler? The same thing happenes to my 95 gst but from about 17 down to 13 or 12 psi. Just check all your piping and make sure its all on tight.

I agree with endlessheart. Make the boost leak tester they have on vfaq and look for leaks. http://vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html
If you're losing boost, it has to be going somewhere-- a hard to see cut in an intercooler hose, through your bov flange, or something. The tester will let you know where. Overheating the stock SMIC would work, since air would no longer be as dense, but you'd have to really do a number on it. Or, maybe the exhaust stream is failing to spin the turbine. I think chances are good that when you do a boost leak test you'll find a leak somewhere, my bet is at the bov. I'm not sure why it's funny, I thought it was a good lookin' gauge though For the future, you could put mods in your sig. Tell us what happens.

Re: *video*why Does My Boost Do This!?*video*
well i found a possiable problem...all the bolts on the valve cover by the spark plugs were like hand loose!!! along with all the outer ones. so i tightened them all up and also my exhaust manifold nut closest to the pass side was also very very loose!! and while cold and revving the engine you could hear the exhaust gases leaking out, thats how bad it was. so i tightened that up alot and no more leak there, now when i took the plug cover off i see a pool of oil and see that the oil cap's o-ring was completly rock hard and leaking everywhere! so i went to mitsubishi parts store and got a new one, along with a new filter and some mobile 1 just for the heck of it. Also relized that on my BOV line that there was still one oem hose clamp with no clamping power still on so im changing that over to a ziptie like the rest
that should help with the overall performance of the engine at least i also redid all the little vaccum lines with zipties to ensure that they were as tight as i could get them -Ryan

Its boost leak. Wow i didnt know the turbo could go below 10psi. When i had a boost leak it was diff. My boost went up to 17 and i was going around 10-15mph. U can tell u have a boost leak by just hearing the engine, if u hear too much air flow (not turbo spool) then air is loose.

Re: *video*why Does My Boost Do This!?*video*
if you're running on the T25 still, anything above 5500rpm's is useless really. try driving your car again and this time pay attention as to what rpm it starts falling at. looks like it spiked at around 15psi, then slowly starts to drop off...this is normal for the T2small, but when i seen your video it seemed to drop off quite a bit. mine spikes at roughly 17, then drops off to around 14, then after 5500 or so down to 12. check for boost leaks anyway, you might have one.

That exhaust manifold leak can cause boost to drop, and increase lag. I'll be surprised if fixing that doesnt improve the situation dramatically.

Re: *video*why Does My Boost Do This!?*video*
ive fixed everything, i did an oil change and while under i tighted every hose clamp to the intercooler and all. tightened up the exhaust manifold nuts, got a new non leaking oil cap on there, reran the BOV line to make sure it was tight tight tight and basically did a once over and the car runs like its brand new!! the boost drop is waaaay less drimatic it holds 15-16psi til about 5300rpm then drops to 12psi, so far its never gone lower than 11 on a redline run so i think im all fixed up. now the problem is that my plates never got renewed so i cant drive my car for a week until i get paid and i need to get it titled yet and all that
. so the poor car has to sit there for a week and bake in the sun and swim in the rain
