Question Computer Problem - 4 The Experts

Ok, obviously (from my other thread) I just formatted my HD. I've been playing around with some setting to get everything to how it was before; including TweakUI.
So today I was looking around on my HD and I've found a major issue. Everytime I double-click on a folder or file, it tries to do a Search instead of Opening?! When I right-click a file or folder I'm given these options (in order and exactly as they appear):

Search...
Open
Explore
...etc...

Before formatting my computer, before today, and before on ANY other computer I've ever used or owned; the Search option has never been on top. The only time it doesn't do this is when I open My Computer and double-click a drive (whether it's a HD, DVD rom, DVD+/-RW, or control panel).

So I'm wondering if any of you computer geniuses (and/or hackers) have any clue as to why this is happening and how I can fix this?

lol you got me, i've never seen "search" on the top b4. Also what OS are you running? what size drive is it? also do you have enough cooling devices? Ive formated many drives and never ran into a problem like that

Re: Computer Problem - 4 The Experts

I've fixed the problem. Went to the following site (through a google search), installed the registry file, and now it works again: http://www.techzonez.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14586
Apparently it's just some freak bug in the OS (wow, biiiiiiiiiiiiig surprise there ) Just thought I'd leave this thread with an answer incase anyone else ever runs into this problem (as well as the same problem only with opening hard drives).

Re: Computer Problem - 4 The Experts

I'm thinking this is probably a Service Pack 2 issue. Good old Microsoft and their great operating system. I've formatted at least 10 hard drives before, and my family has done far more; and not one of us has ever ran into this problem. Linux really isn't sounding too bad right now
