94 VW Jetta noise damper

Have always problems with my Jetta 2.0 lt/ 4cy/ running rough in downpours of rain, when starting the other day, car backfired for the first time, and will not run now. Upon inspection found the noise damper (small plastic piece with filter that attaches to the Idle Air Intake valve hoses totally blew into pieces.( nonrepairable!) No part stores carry it or junkyards within 80 miles, ( Yeah, I live in the sticks!) and nearest VW dealership is also that far away. Any way to bypass or modify to get me by for the time being or where I can get such a part. Crucial to have car for transportation to work. Help ASAP!!!

Part is only available from VW, replace that ignition coil while you're at it.
