convertin to an awd
ok this would be in the fabrication forum kinna. is it possible to convert a rwd car to an awd. if you had the awd front and rear axles,transfer case, and stuff like that. i would have to custom make the driveshafts right? is it possible to do this and mount it to were ground clearence is not an issue? what would i need to make myself to make it work? thanks guys

you'd have to custom build all the driveshafts and places to mount everything, as well as find a way to make the Front hubs that are connected to halfshafts fit in the place of where there were hubs with no shafts, There's also a good chance there isn't enough clearance under the engine in the front of the car for the front diff. This would be VERY hard.

that hard? dang so it would be possible but very hard right? if i did do this then i could make all the stuff like mounts and driveshafts. so if i can get the front hub up what else? would i need to use the whole suspention from the car i got the awd system from? what else would i need after that? thanks for your imput it helped alot

it depends whats different on the cars you're using, there's a chance you could get the FWD/AWD hubs to fit, there's a chance not, you might want to use the front suspension off another car and then fabricate all the mounting points.

It would be very difficult. There would be a lot of fabrication involved. And to get it all designed properly is a whole 'nother challenge.
