HELP PLEASE! clutch problem!

ok today i was comming home and i was getting ready to pull into the garage. so i shifted from nuetral to first started moving (about 6 inches) then i feel something in my foot through the pedal like come loose or pop off or something. so i try to take it out of gear and then put it back in and try, but still didnt work. the clutch pedal pushes in REAL easy now. but it doesnt stay down when i push it in it still comes back up like regular. is this a linkage problem??? how easy is it to fix? or how do u do it??? any ideas?

I don't think that the master cylinder fluid level has any thing to do with it because he said that the clutch pedal doesn't stay on the floor it comes back up. If you can't shift into any gear then I'm thinking that possibly the slave cylinder push rod end that pushes into the throughout bearing might have popped out of place take a look under the car at the slave cylinder and check to see if the rod is at an angle or off to the side (not pushing on anything). If this is what is wrong then try to pop back into place but that may not work so just loosen the bolts that holds the slave cylinder in place and then pop back into place, if that's the problem then it should take only but a few minutes to fix.

I don't know if you know what the slave cylinder is, well it's kind of like the master cylinder but when you push the clutch in it presses hydrolic fluid into the line down to the slave cylinder which pushes fluid into a rod that pushes into the throughout bearing arm. That's it in a nut shell, if that is not your problem keep looking around for the answer, hopefully it's something that easy to fix. Good luck

What yr is you car? If you have a hyd clutch then there is no clutch linkage, It's fluid.

Re: HELP PLEASE! clutch problem!

even if your brakes work fine, it could still be the master cylinder?
