Re: Perfect Springs and Shocks?
Koni Yellows and H&R Springs, if you're on a bit of a budget, go with KYB AGX shocks instead of the Yellows.

Re: Re: Perfect Springs and Shocks?
For what conditions? Full race - drag or road, street/race, street only, etc.
The best combinations are true coilovers because they are engineered, designed, & built to work together in all ranges of settings. Don't get me wrong H&R's and Koni sports are a great setup but they are 2 different companies not designed to work together like true coilovers. There is no perfect suspension setup, not even on a F1 car. |

For street only...I wanna lower the front of my car 1.75" and the back 1.5".

I agree with GSCivic7 if you just want to lower your car, the Koni's Yellows w/ H&R's seem to be very popular and work well, the other shock that I have heard nothing but good for is the Tokico Illuminas, Im getting them once I get my civic back from AAMCO and if you havent found out by then Ill let you know how they feel. That is unless someone knows already and can tell you faster than I can.

Re: Re: Perfect Springs and Shocks?
You can't do better than true coilovers, but with lowering springs & struts - H&R sports & Koni sports. Since it's for street only Koni sports might be a little too much since your not really going to be using them for what they're meant for. Tokico Illumina or KYB AGX will work fine. Which ever strut you choose go with something adjustable. If you don't want adjustables, H&R & Bilstein struts are a good combination. Many BMW's we work on have Bilsteins & H&R's. You really can't compare an economy based FWD civic to a Luxury RWD BMW, but they do ride and handle very well.
I've installed Bilsteins on a civic but never with H&R springs, I think they were Neuspeed springs. |
